What a factory audit actually verifies
Paperwork travels well; production lines don't lie. A real audit verifies:
- Who owns the factory — the legal entity, not the business card
- Whether certificates are in date, in scope and match the actual product
- Real capacity this quarter, measured on the line — not brochure capacity
- Testing equipment that exists, is calibrated, and has records
- Which cells go into the pack, and whether the UN38.3 test covers them
- Whether the BOM is traceable from cell to finished pack
If a factory can't show you these, everything else is marketing.
